Kestrel

My Name. It has been, and always will be one thing about me that will confuse most people whom i meet for the first time. Simone, my wife, took 3 days to learn my name when we first met.
Since as long as i can remember, i have been referred to, by all sorts of names, ranging from "castrol", to "kettle" to "kransten". I do not blame anyone for this.... I used to resent a mispronunciation of my name. But not anymore. I am proud of my name. I have now accepted the fact that my name is unique, and special.

A Kestrel, is a bird. A type of Falcon. A killer Falcon to be presice. A predator and killer of smaller creatures and animals. A Kestrel flies with its head to the wind, and is the only bird besides the humming bird which can hover stationary, mid air. It uses this skill to hover over a hunting ground, locate & home in on a prey..... and then with breakneck speed, swoop down on the hapless victim, pick it up and fly away. It usually kills the victim with the very impact of its four inch claws hitting it.

A Kestrel flies high and fast. It can even touch speeds of upto 110 kmph. I love speed. It thrills me and gives me the feeling of power.

I aim to be like the Kestrel, in a way. Not a killer obviously. But fly with my head to the wind. Look at every challenge in my life as a prey. Aim at it from afar, strategise the way i should tackles it, and then swoop in and conquer it.

Thank you.
